ABOUT GREG ZAKOWICZ
With 20+ years in marketing, I understand how high-performing marketing organizations operate and what it takes to drive growth. For the past 13+ years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping two high-growth MarTech startups scale by serving in various marketing capacities, joining each company around the 50-employee mark with less than $12 million in ARR. The first of the two (Bronto) was acquired by NetSuite (and later Oracle).
Content, product, and brand Marketing
I love a holistic marketing strategy that blends storytelling, data, and brand. I’ve spent the past decade working in content marketing, with a strong overlap with Product and Brand marketing, strategizing, conceiving, and creating B2B content, including whitepapers, success stories, industry benchmark reports, PR outreach and materials, thought leadership articles, YouTube videos, and podcasts. I have conceived, launched, and hosted two award-winning podcasts, the Commerce Marketer Podcast and Unboxing Careers Podcast, as well as the limited-run Cart Insiders Podcast.
Leadership
I believe in people-first leadership. When employees feel respected and trusted, they take ownership, perform better, and stay longer. I’ve led teams of up to nine across multiple business lines and built a startup-sized content team at Omnisend. My management style has consistently earned strong feedback, including:

Email Marketing and Ecommerce
I started working in email marketing in 2005 and quickly recognized its potential. At a diversified media company, I led two verticals managing 100M+ sends and $4M in annual revenue. Later, I built a gluten-free ecommerce brand as a personal testbed to sharpen my ecommerce skills. That experience helped me evolve from practitioner to strategist, helping 100+ global brands improve email and SMS performance and establishing me as a recognized ecommerce and email marketing expert.
Ecommerce SME
As an ecommerce SME, I have spoken and chaired at countless ecommerce events, such as Email Camp, IRCE, eTail events (West & Canada), Magento Live Australia, SuiteWorld, and Outdoor Retailer. I’ve been featured in top retail and business publications, including Forbes, The New York Post, Bloomberg, USA Today, Total Retail, Adweek, DIGIDAY, AP News, Yahoo Finance, Multichannel Merchant, and Internet Retailer. I have also previously been retained as an ecommerce and retail industry expert witness, issuing a report on in-store and online consumer shopping trends.
